Raven’s Gate is a really creepy but gripping book about a boy named Matt who, after he is punished for a crime he didn’t commit, has to decide whether to go to jail, or go live with a weird old lady named Mrs. Deverill in a weird, unfamiliar town with weird, unfamiliar people. Matt chooses the second option, and soon realizes he is being used for a plan being formed by the townspeople. All the people that try to help him die. Matt figures something out about himself, and his life changes because of this discovery.

Raven’s Gate will leave you wanting more, and luckily it is part of a series. The second book is called Evil Star and the third book is NightRise. The fourth book is Necropolis, and the fifth book is Oblivion. Raven’s Gate is probably for ages 9-13/14 because some parts are really creepy. If you’re looking for a mystery/thriller book, I really suggest it!
