This book, similar to House of Secrets, had me gripped every second. Emerald Atlas, the first book in a trilogy, is a thrilling adventure about 3 orphans, Kate, Michael and Emma, who are adopted, and when they come to their new foster home in Cambridge Falls, they find everything about it creepy: there are no kids, no trees, and a mountain range just seemed to pop in front of them out of the blue. When the kids arrive at their new house, they find a mysterious book (the Emerald Atlas) that has extraordinary powers. Kate, Michael, and Emma are transported into the past where they find out what happened to Cambridge Falls and embark on a dangerous adventure to stop an evil force from destroying everything starting with their home. I loved this book so much, but I do admit that some parts are a bit confusing because of all the time jumping. Other than that, if you are looking for a good adventure book, this is just the thing for you!
