This is a wonderful story. It is about a boy, Jacob, who is on a mission to find out about the stories his Grandpa had told him when he was a little kid–or more specifically, the people in the story. According to his grandpa, there are supposed to be mysterious, magical, and even dangerous kids that are on an island who all live in an orphanage because they share one thing in common with each other: they all have magical powers! So, determined to find out the truth, Jacob sets out to the island–and finds much more than he expected! Although it is a good story, it kind of creeped me out, to be honest. Also, it has bad language, so I would suggest this book for ages 11 and up. If those things don’t bother you, though, I guarantee you will enjoy this gripalicious story!!!!
Hello bestie, I love your blog it’s really good!
Love, Leah
This book sounds really interesting, but do you think someone my age (10) could read it without any creepiness bothering them?
Hi Nina. Thanks for the comment! Well, it is pretty creepy. For example, the evil people have completely white eyes, so the pictures and the way the book describes things are a little freaky, but since it’s an excellent book, I think you’ll find that it’s worth it to read.
Wow I can’t believe I wrote that comment almost exactly a year ago! I’m going to try to find this book at the library because it looks really good and this blog gave it good reviews. Thanks!
looks good
