Although this book was great, it was not nearly as good as the first two books in this series. Thomas and the Gladers find out that WICKED (the organization that placed them in the Maze) is starting to recruit new people and put them in the Maze for a new experiment. WICKED tries to give Thomas and his friends their memories back, because they had taken them while they were in the Maze. But Thomas doesn’t want his memories back, and neither do his friends, so they escape and form a plan to stop WICKED once and for all. With a bit of help, the Gladers fight WICKED and finally, at the very end, they find a solution for getting rid of the Flare. I won’t tell you what it is, but the end is very sad because many people die (good and bad people). The end was bitter-sweet; bitter because of the deaths, and sweet because of their plan, so in the end it left me feeling satisfied yet also wistful.  I would suggest you read The Death Cure if you have read the first two books in the series. If you haven’t, this book may be confusing so I suggest you read The Maze Runner and The Scorch Trials first.
